In June, CAF launched its first international ideas competition. The competition challenges participants to imagine a new Center for Architecture, Design and Education in Chicago. A selection of the most outstanding submissions is now on display in an exhibition around CAF’s Chicago Model.

The Chicago Model features the largest, most complete replica of the downtown Loop area in the world. Representing 400 city blocks and 1000 to scale buildings the Chicago Model has become an icon, beloved by tourists, locals and design professionals.
Currencies of Architecture: Chicago Architectural Club’s Burnham Prize Competition

This exhibition features images that represent definitive moments in the history of architecture and that speak to the issues architects face today. The images on display were selected from submissions to the Chicago Architectural Club’s Burnham Prize Competition, which explores the question: “What is the state of the art of architecture today?”
