Designer of the acclaimed Poetry Foundation building in Chicago, John Ronan will discuss his views on Chicago architecture and practicing within its building culture. This lecture will be the fifth in the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust's annual Thinking Into the Future: The Robie House Series on Architecture, Design and Ideas. It is a Chicago Architecture Biennial partner event.
John Ronan is Founding Principal and Lead Designer of John Ronan Architects. The Poetry Foundation building in Chicago, built in 2007, received one of the Chicago-based firm’s two American Institute of Architects National Honor Awards. Ronan has been recognized by Chicago’s Graham Foundation, the Architectural League of New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, and is the subject of a Princeton Architectural Press monograph. He is a professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology and holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design.
