Join architectural historian Susan Benjamin for a walk through Chicago's Gold Coast--a treasure trove of architecture by Chicago's most talented designers. We will meet at Wright's Charnley/Perskey House for a brief tour. Then, while learning of the area's rich history, enjoy the city's most elegant town houses--homes by Howard Van Doren Shaw, David Adler and Benjamin Marshall. We will see the Chicago's Cardinal's house--the finest Queen Anne in the City--the Graham Foundation--a Palazzo with Prairie influences and once home to beer baron Albert Madlener. Included will be stops at the neighborhood's stylish 1920s apartment houses that began to replace many of the area's baronial homes. The tour will end at the world-famous Pump Room.
