Join Rebuild Foundation as historians, architects, and artists explore and activate Rebuild’s glass lantern slide collection. The Stony Island Arts Bank is home to more than 60,000 glass lantern slides acquired from the Department of Art History at the University of Chicago. They cover art and architectural history from the Paleolithic period to the Modern era, and became obsolete when scholars transitioned to 35mm slides and, eventually, digital projections. By connecting this historic collection to contemporary currents in both art and architecture, this monthly lecture series will put forward alternative views of art history.
