Glass House is a two-day program exploring the intimate experiences that occur between the built environment and its observers. For the participating artists and scholars, inhabiting their surroundings, either domestic or public, is a form of studio research rife with emotion, play, and productivity.
November 7 opens a three-week exhibition curated by Danny Floyd and Jeff Prokash, professors of Sculpture and Visual and Critical Studies at SAIC featuring multimedia artists Rocío Azarloza, Joe Bochynski, sculptor Jeremy Pellington, and urban planning scholar David Badesch, who will be performing alternative tours of vernacular Chicago architecture. The subject matter of these artists' work ranges from the histories of major architectural landmarks to spaces of personal interiority.
