As part of a multi-year collaboration between Chicago and French jazz artists, The Bridge holds a performance at the Arts Incubator. Like all French-American ensembles that cross The Bridge for the first time, the members of this quartet have never played together outside a few preparation sessions between each saxophonist and the drummer.
An extension of the Green Line Arts Center project within the Forms of Imagination exhibition, this performance demonstrates the kind of performances that will be included in the future art space’s programming.
The Bridge is a platform that intends to form such a network for exchange, production, and diffusion, to build a transatlantic bridge that will be crossed on a regular basis by French and American musicians as part of collaborative projects. In addition to the scheduled projects, this platform encourages meetings and relationships between creative musicians and perpetuate them. In other words: it gives them the times and spaces to join and rejoin on both sides of the ocean and to deepen their exchanges.
