Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture’s (AS+GG) partners and senior staff will discuss some of their most exciting, innovative works, both conceptual and built, in “AS+GG 's Future Cities.” The lecture will feature models, illustrations, and photographs of some of the world’s most innovative projects under construction including Astana Expo City 2017, the Chicago Decarbonization Plan, and the Great city satellite-city concepts designed for outside of Chengdu, China. Other projects that will be discussed are several of AS+GG experimental concept designs including the Mile-High Tower prototype, the Biophilic Tower, the Cube XYZ Gateway, and Chicago’s Eco Bridge.
AS+GG is dedicated to the design of high-performance, energy-efficient, and sustainable architecture on an international scale—designing everything from low and mid-rise residential, to mixed-use supertall towers. Learn from the Architects about the innovative techniques and inspirational concepts for a variety of both international and Chicago specific projects.
The lecture will be given in AS+GG’s penthouse offices, located in an addition to the Harris Bank Building. The space is centered around two interior courtyard spaces that function as central gathering areas for staff and guests.
