Anne Lacaton and Jean Philippe Vassal founded in 1987 Lacaton & Vassal, a Paris-based practice that works on public buildings, housing, and urban planning. Their major projects include FRAC in Dunkirk, France; the renovation of Palais de Tokyo, Paris; and the transformation of several public housing estates in France. Frédéric Druot established his eponymous architectural agency in 1992. Its main activities are in housing, workplaces, and cultural venues, where it undertakes research into the altering of context, scale, and cost-effectiveness in new buildings, as well as the transformation of pre-existing ones.
