Lateral Office

Toronto, Canada

Lateral Office, founded by Lola Sheppard and Mason White in 2003, is an experimental design practice that operates at the intersection of architecture, landscape, and urbanism. Much of their research revolves around the Arctic. They curated the Canadian pavilion at the 2014 Venice Architecture Biennale, Artic Adaptations, which was awarded a special mention. White is associate professor at the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, & Design at the University of Toronto, while Sheppard is associate professor at the University of Waterloo.
